Worldview Entertainment has come on board to finance and produce Guillaume Canet’s crime thriller “Blood Ties,” a remake of the 2008 French pic “Les Liens du sang” (Rivals).

“Blood Ties” stars Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Matthias Schoenaerts, Noah Emmerich, Lili Taylor, Domenick Lombardozzi and James Caan. Shooting stars in New York city on April 30.

Wild Bunch is handling international sales on the French co-production and will jointly sell North American rights with CAA.

Pic, which will be Canet’s first English language pic, centers on two brothers, on either side of the law, who face off over organized crime in Brooklyn during the 1970s. Canet starred in “Rivals,” from writer-director Jacques Maillot.

Has Mila been dropped from the potential role of Jackie Kennedy in The Butler? Was hoping she’d get that role.

The Butler is still in the discussion stage…nothing has been financed or greenlit yet. And nobody has been cast, any reports about Oprah, or Hugh Jackson, or Mila joining the cast are purely rumor. And even if the film does get financed it probably would not begin production for a while.

As I know Jane Fonda was announced as Nancy Reagan. Here´s the casting call – https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=423481367678875&id=249525941741086 So I guess more names will be announced very soon.

For what it’s worth IMDB has pulled “The Butler” off of Mila’s page so I still am not certain what the status is for the project. The link Nicloe provided indicates they will be casting up until July 25th, but I’m still not sure if they have secured funding for the project and things change for actors rapidly. I know Mila is signed on for sure for Blood Ties and that starts shooting May 1st.

Right! IMDB took down “The Butler” of Mila’s page. She’s not confirmed at all. Anyway I really wonder what is the Marco Polo project on her page. I didn’t hear anything about that.
